Chair
The idea for Carbon Neutral Northleach came whilst Peter was watching cricket with his friend Richard, a lecturer on environmental management at the University of Southampton.
Peter’s background is in sports and leisure management and ran his own consultancy business from both the Old Bakery and the Old Police Station. Despite selling the business, retirement was short-lived and he now works part-time for a company operating sport, leisure and cultural facilities across the country.
Peter and Mary moved to Northleach in 1993 and brought up their three children here. They love the town and local area and want to do their bit to keep it green and reduce their carbon footprint.

Treasurer, Policy & Strategy Group
Joining as a member at the inaugural meeting of Carbon Neutral Northleach in January 2020, Mark sees this as the best opportunity to continue the voluntary work he began in his previous home district of West Somerset, where he became chairman of the Forum 21 community group promoting sustainable living.
Mark and Sue moved to Northleach in 2013 to be closer to their two daughters who had returned from living abroad to raise their families in the UK. He now serves on the Town Council as chairman of the Finance and General Resources Committee, and he has volunteered as a warden at Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s Greystones Farm Nature Reserve since 2016.

Energy Advisor
Being a relative newcomer to Northleach, moving to the town in early 2020, Matt received a flyer through the door about Carbon Neutral Northleach. Having been in the energy industry for over 35 years, the first 20 with British Gas and the last 12 working in the renewable energy industry, he felt he could offer the benefit of his experience to the group. Matt feels passionately about reducing carbon emissions and also loves his new home town.
It made sense to join and work with the group for the greater good for Northleach and the wider community.
Matt lives with Karen, a born and bred Northleach girl. He enjoys karaoke (where he met Karen), quizzing, keeping fit and watching Man City.

Policy and Strategy Group
As soon as Rita saw that a new group called Carbon Neutral Northleach had been formed, she joined up and offered her help. Being part of a community effort felt like a positive action rather than feeling overwhelmed by trying to Save the Planet and Reduce Carbon Emissions alone!
Rita’s background is in sales and worked in the travel industry for many years. She moved to Northleach with her husband and two daughters in 1995 and felt immediately at home in the town and the beautiful surrounding area.

With over 20 years’ experience in this field, she has a natural ability to grasp key messages and convert them into clever, professional, and canny communications.
Kathryn understands that as a business professional, you are so caught up in your day to day role that you can sometimes forget what exactly you are trying to do and say. This is where IPR comes in, to clear the fog and allow for effective communications.
As we all seek to do our own wee bit towards a more sustainable, carbon-free home, Kathryn is delighted to be part of the CNN voluntary committee to help plan for a greener future.
